Lagos State Declares War on Cultism: A Warning to Cultists and Prospective Members

The Lagos State government has taken a bold step in declaring war on cultism, vowing to hunt down and prosecute cultists in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA). This move is a welcome development in the fight against cultism, which has plagued many communities in Nigeria.

The Dangers of Cultism

Cultism is a menace that has destroyed many lives and communities. It is a breeding ground for violence, crime, and immorality. Cultists often engage in violent clashes, resulting in loss of lives and property. They also perpetuate crime, such as robbery, kidnapping, and rape.

A True-Life Story: The Brutal Murder of Toheeb Folarin

The recent brutal murder of a 39-year-old barber, Toheeb Folarin, by suspected cultists in Obantoko, Abeokuta, Ogun State, is a stark reminder of the dangers of cultism. Folarin's life was brutally cut short by cultists who stormed his barbershop and shot him dead. This senseless killing has left his family and community in shock and grief.

Warning to Cultists and Prospective Members

To cultists and those contemplating joining cult groups, we have a warning for you:

_Leave cultism now_: Renounce your membership and seek help. Cultism is a destructive path that will only lead to ruin and regret.

_Don't be deceived_: Cult groups often promise protection, wealth, and power, but these promises are false. Cultism will only bring you harm, not good.

_You will be caught_: The authorities are closing in on cultists, and you will be caught and prosecuted if you continue down this path.

_Seek help_: If you are struggling with cultism or know someone who is, seek help from a trusted authority figure, counselor, or pastor.

NOTE

The Lagos State government's declaration of war on cultism is a step in the right direction. We urge all stakeholders to support this effort and work together to eradicate cultism from our communities. To cultists and prospective members, we say: leave cultism now and seek help. It's not too late to turn your life around.
